CRICKET MATCH.

A cricket match between the Postal and Telegraph departments was played on tho Basin Beserve yesterday afternoon, and resulted in a complete victory for ths former team. Mr. Grey captained tho winning team, and Mr. Sunley the others. Play was started a little after 12 o'clock by the Postal team going in first, They were not disposed of until they had made the very respectable score of 98, chiefly attributable to the wretched fielding of their opponents. Tho batting of DuncaD, Willis, and perhaps Grey, was good, but the remainder do not call for special comment. With the exception of Orowther, as longstop, tho fielding was loose and careless. For the Telegraphists Henry and Orowther were the only two who showed any form in batting, Thoy were nearly all unfortunate, and small scores and duck's-eggs were the order of tho day. The weather was splendid for cricketing, and the turf in first-rate order. At 1 o'clock the two toama luncheened in the pavillion, whero tho usual complimentary toasts passed between them.
