Loading for Lyttelton: Kenilworth. The Lretitia, from New Caledonia, reports that the Pacific Slope, from New Zealand, had to put in, in consequence of her cargo of timber shifting in a gale. A cable message reports the arrival of the City of Auckland on April 3. LYTTELTON, Friday. Arrived ; Star of the Sonth. from "Wellington. Sailed: Sunbeam, for Newcastle.' The ketch Forest Queen and schooner Arthur, "Wakefield arrived here from Waitapu yesterday, having left there the previous day. Had fine weather across. The City of Auckland, from Auckland, and Pareota from Port Chalmers, both the property of the N.Z.S. Company, arrived at London prior to the 3rd inst. The s.s Taiaroa, Captain Kennedy, left the ManuJtau at 9 a.m. on the 3rd: arrived at Taranaki at 5 a.m. on the 4th; sailed at 8.30 a.m., and arrived at Nelson at 11 p.m. same day; sailed again at 10 a.m. on the Sth, and arrived in port at 8 o’clock last night. Experienced moderate .weather throughout. The Taiaroa, after landing about fifty tons cargo and skip Ing thirty tons, sai'ed for Southern ports at an early hour this morning. As anticipated yesterday the brigantine winch anchored in port on Thursday night proved to bo the F. W Tucker, from Clarence River, with a cargo of hardwood for the Queen's wharf extension. She left the Clarence on the 20th inst., and made the land on Sunday afternoon last, arrived off the Heads the following day : but owing to the strong north-west gale blowing had to come to nn anchorage at the Heads till Thursday morning, when she got under way and beat up to an anchorage in port, arriving as abovestated. After leaving the Clarence she had moderate easterly weather till the 31st; thence strong northwest till arrival off the Heads as above-stated. The schooner Martha Reid, for Oamaru, and ketch Elizabeth, for Picton, left the harbor yesterday. Tl 10 schooner Dunedin, from Oamaru, arrived in port yesterday after a passage of 13 days. Jest prior to her starting one of the boys was in the raizzen rigging shaking loose the spanker, when by some unfortunate accident the lad lost his hold and fell heavily on the deck, a: distance of about twelve or fourteen feet. When picked up he was found to be insensible, and Captain Millar, fearing the boy was seriously injured, at once took Mm ashore for medical advice. Dr. Diver, was consulted, who give it as his opinion that the injuries to the lad were of such a nature as would not prevent him from going to sea with the vessel, and consequently he was conveyed back there. When the hoy arrived on board the River Leven he had thoroughly recovered consciousness, and it was anticipated that in a day or two he would be all right. The ship Lord of the Isles will finish discharging her cargo to-day. From here she proceeds to Newcastle. 'The s.s. Taranaki, from the South, arrived here at 8.45 a.m. yesterday. -She left Port Chalmers at 1.30 p.m. on the 3rd, and arrived at Lyttelton at 8.30 a.m. on the 4th; .sailed again at 4.15 p.m. same day, and arrived here as above-stated. The Taranaki sailed lor Northern ports at 8 o’clock last evening. The schooners Rose of Eden. Saucy Lass, Shepherdess, Cynthia, and Hannah Barratt, and the ketch Thames sailed for Pelorus Sound yesterday. The N.Z.S. Co. have received information of the arrival of their vessel, the Wairoa, at London from this port prior to the 3rd inst. She left here on the «th January, and has therefore made a good passage Home of between 80 and 90 days. No intimation has yet been received as to the arrival of the Zealandla at London, which left here two days before the Wairoa, but as the movements of Shaw, Saviil, and Co’s vessels are not regularly telegraphed to the colony, the Zealandia may have reached Home before this. The s.s. Arawata, with the outward jSucz niail on board, sailed for Melbourne via the South at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. The schooners Reward, from Timaru, and Star of the Sea. from Havelock, arrived here yesterday: the former grain-laden, and the latter with a cargo of timber. They will both he berthed during the day to discharge.
