Corporation Notices CITY COUNCIL WATER SUPPLY. NOTICE is hereby given that in consequence of the short supply of water in the reservoir, the water will be cut off from the mains from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m., commencing Saturday the 6th inst. Consumers are therefore required to store a sufficient supply for domestic purposes during these hours, A limited supply during these hours will be available at low pressure from the Polhill Gully Stream. The following regulations for the supply of water to be used for other than strictly domestic purposes, are published for general information : Ist. That no water be used for other than domestic purposes except by meter. 2nd. That the meter be supplied by the consumer, to be tested and attached by the Corporation officers at the cost of the consumer. 3rd. That the meter be in all cases kept locked, the key to remain in the custody of the City Surveyor. 4th. That the charge for, all water used as above shall be one shilling and sixpence per one thousand gallons, in addition to the ordinary water-rate. sth. That water may be used as above for the supply of steam boilers, syphoons, hydraulic lifts, breweries, bottlers, livery-stables, blacksmiths' forges, soapworks, gasworks, asrated water manufactories, and other similar purposes; but on no account to be used for water engines proper. 6th. That the meter be read monthly, when the account for water will be rendered. 7th. That 15 days’ delay in settling said account will render the consumer liable to have the service cut off at once. Bth. That all services for the abovementioned purposes, for which application is not made in terms of the above within one week from date hereof, be immediately cut off. 9tb. That if any delay arises in fixing the meter, after the service is laid on, the average consumption for the first month after the meter is attached shall be taken as the basis for charging for consumption for the time during which the. meter "was not attached. 10th. That the meter in each case be fixed at the discretion- of the City Surveyor, at the nearest convenient place to the main, within the premises of the consumer. 11th. That if the supply in the reservoir at any time is such as to lead the City Surveyor to believe that the supply will not be sufficient for domestic purposes, the service shall he cut off at 24 hours’ notice, by advertisement. 12th. That services as above will only be supplied on the applicant signing an agreement to comply with the foregoing regulations. By order. CHARLES C. GRAHAM, Town Clerk. NOTICE is hereby given, that after this date no person other than the Corporation servants shall be allowed to interfere in any way with the water pipes, either for domestic or other purposes, except duly qualified Plumbers, who shall be licensed by the Corporation on application to the City Surveyor.
