TENDERS will be received at this Office up to NOON on MONDAY, 27tli July, 1874, for the CONSTRUCTION of the above (formation only), being about 13 miles 45 chains in length. They must be addressed to the Hon. Minister for Public Works, and marked outside, " Tender, Orari Contract." Plans and specifications may be seen at this Office, and at the Public Works Offices, Christchurch and Timaru. Telegraphic tenders will be received under the usual conditions for tendering for Railway Works in general. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Notice is hereby given that 47,000 acres, more or less, of Crown Lands, divided into Suburban and Rural Sections; situated in the PARAE-KARETU BLOCK, West Coast, and distant ten miles from the township of Marton, Upper Rangitikei, will be sold by public auction, at this office, on or about Ist September. The Parae-Karetu Block, hereafter to be called, "The Township of Hunter," is easily accessible both from Wanganui and Rangitikei. Part of the land is covered with open bush, while that in the Pourewa Valley and also on the Turakina side consists of level country. Further information will be given in future advertisements. JOS.
