TURAKINA.
Ixdl’ctiox of Rev. Mr. Ali.svvortii.—This gonth-iitaii was inducted into the charge ol the Presbyterian churches of Turakina and Western Baiigiliki'i on Sunday hist. The Rev. Mr. 1 l-.gg of Wanganui, Moderator of the Presbytery of Wellington, preached an able and eloquent discourse on the first clause of Heb viii. ft . in which ho instituted a comparison between the Jewish priesthood and that of Christ, au.l at the end exhibited the idea of a Christian ministry, and in doing so addressed some pertinent remarks to the minister about to be inducted. Having rend the Minutes of Presbytery bearing on the case, Mr. Hog" introduced Mr. Allsworth formally to the congregation. The service was conducted at Turakina in the morning, and in tho upper district in the afternoon. The attendance in both places was very good.
