The brigantine Sword Fish arrived yesterday from Otago, which place she left on the 29th ult. The news brought byher is unimportant. The yield of gold still continues steady ; the Escort arrived at Dunedin on the 23rd ult. with 11,10() ounces ot gold. A defence meeting was culled for the purpose of considering the propriety of putting the town and port in a condition to resist the attacks of privateers in the event of a war between England and America.
