The Acadian. —This fine schooner anchored in the harbour on Sunday morning last. She left Auckland on the 29th ult., and made an excellent run as far as Cape Palliser, being only 4 days, but in consequence of strong head winds, she was detained in the Straits awaiting a change. Upon her former trip from Auck land she made an excellent passage, landing the mail in little over 4 days. She is nearly a new vessel having been built at Wangarie only lasi year, she has very good passenger accommodation, and will carry a large cargo. We understand that it is the intention of the owners to offer her for sale at this port, and from her well known sailing qualities she will no doubt find a purchaser. The owners Messrs. Fletcher and Solomons of Auckland are desirous of continuing the trade between this port and Auckland, and we believe that it is their intention to employ the Osprey, a very fine vessel with first rate passenger accommodation, as a regular trader.
We are requested to notice that Messrs. Duncan and Co.’s sale is postponed to to-morrow, at 11 o’clock' instead of 1 o’clock to-day as previously advertised.
