ACCIDENTS.

At five minutes past five on Saturday evening, a man named David Brogmus, a blacksmith, residing at 30, Taranaki street, was knocked down by a tram-car, just outside the Manners street Pob.ce Station. Brogmus was going to cross the tram-line in front of an advancing car, but on hearing the motorman sound . ae bell, he hesitated as if to allow the car to pass. Rutherford was returning to his ship at a late hour, and, going up the gangway, he slipped on a. piece of banana-peel, and 11 heavily. •Vt the inquest held on Saturday cn the bodv of the man William Miners, who was so severely injured on the 9th inst. at the Manawatu Railway Company’s quarry at Paekakarilci, that he died in hospital on Friday last, the jury returned a verdict of accidental death, and held that no blame was attributable to anyone. The jury further found that the Manawatu Railway Company and others had satisfactorily endeavoured to assist the injured man.
