STACKS BURNE
CAPTURE OE AN INCENDIARY. PRESS ASSOCIATION. GORE, July An extraordinary occurrence is reported from Eiversdale. This morning a number of fires were observed over the plain, and it settlor on making investigation saw a man deliberately setting lim to several straw stacks. The settler obtained assistance, bat meantime the man had reached the next farm and set lire to three oat sheaf stacks and several straw stacks. The mail was at last secured. In all he burned fifteen stacks, valued at over YiOO. He was brought to Gore tc-night for medical examination, seemingly being a lunatic. Ho arrived in the cistrict several days ago. Ho is ..beu-J h-ty years of age, and gives the George Murray. He states thac he has a wife and three children at Dunedin.
