Of proven efficacy for Bronchial irritation. # Australian butter shipments to England for the past twelve months have reached a total of 33,181 tons, an increase of 67704 tons, or over 25 per cent., over the previous season. The increase from Melbourne is 30584 tons, Sydney 2191| tons, Brisbane 1235! tons, and Adelaide 2844- tons. The only shipment for London by the Orotava consists of 480 cases, or twelve tons, from Brisbane. The output of the Eltliam Dairy Company for the past season, says the ■*' Eltliam Argus,” constituted a record. Altogether 8974 tons of butter were manufactured and £67,019 paid out to suppliers. The year’s working leaves a balance of £2090 still to be distributed, and this will bring the amount paid per lb for butter-fat up to per lb, as against 10.24-d last year. The busiest month was December, when 1224 tone of butter was manufactured and £10,614 paid out. The trade unions of Great Britain arid Ireland, according to the latest official return issued recently, have an accumulated reserve of almost five and a half millions sterling. Those figures come down only to December, 1905; they exceed any previous year’s total. The membership was 1,567,519; the year’s incomo £2,557,180, and the expenditure, almost as great, reached £2,506,024. The Stratford correspondent of the Taranaki r ‘ Herald ” says the eight cooperative companies in tlie Stratford district turned out last season 3000 cwts of butter and 6400 cwts of cheese more than they did the previous season, which was a record one.
