The services of the old pioneers and nublic men connected with the city and province of Wellington were not forgotten last night at the “ social ” tendered to Judge Rawson. The Hon. T. Kennedy Macdonald, M.L.C., in nrono.sing the health of Mr E. P. Bunny, the chairman, referred to the fact that Mr Bunny’s late father was one of the strongest and ablest public men in the colony. His services to the city and provinoe in the early days were of inestimable value. As Provincial Secretary, in conjunction with the Superintendent, the late Mr William Fitzherbert, he was the moving spirit of every public undertaking, and both in the General and Provincial Legislature, he did much to build up the future which they now enjoyed. In reply, Mr E. P. Bunny expressed his thanks for the eloquent tribute Mr Macdonald had paid to the memory of his father.
