COLMNCWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr Wayne and Mr Jones, two gentlemen from Sydney, interested in iron, have spent a fortnight in the district examining the iron deposits at Parapara. They were under the impression when* they came, I understand, that the syndicate formed by the late Sir A. Cadman for developing this important industry was defunct, and therefore that the field was open. But, having found that the syndicate was very much alive, as shown by the fact of the active preparation being made to fully man the ground in compliance with the conditions of their lease, they have now returned to Sydney. It is now expected that the long delays in the flotation of this iron company are nearly’ at an end, and that the syndicate will have their perseverance rewarded by success before long. The very hopeful signs in this matter have caused very great satisfaction throughout the district. The Parapara Hydraulic Sluicing 'Company are opening out their new claim at Appoo’s Flat, and although they have not yet cleaned up appearances would warrant the expectation of it being satisfactory when they do so.
