There is a movement'bn foot at present for the merging of the Te Horo Road Board in the Horbw/isvaua County Council. The purpose for which the- road district was formed, namely, tile efficient roading of the district in £he first instance, has now 'been accomplished, and it is felt that the district could be just as well and more cheaply administered by the parent body. The population of Te Horo road district is 612, of whom 146 are ratepayers. Should the petition for the merging 'of Te Horo be granted, there will be only one- Road Board left in Horotahenua county, viz., Otaki, with a population of 1280; and this will probably be eliminated before along by the establishment of a borough. A Press Association message states that Sir John Hall will be a candidate for the Christchurch Mavoraltv.
