In asking for proofs of debt at a meeting of creditors last Wednesday, the Official Assignee (Mr James Ashcroft) quoted instances where a really bad estate had paid 12s Gd in the £l, for the simple reason that only one creditor had sent in proof of debt. Creditors who do not “prove” are not entitled to any dividend in a bankrupt estate.
