Suggestions Lave been made that the Premier has caused, to have circulated the report of Judge Ward on the Meikle case. On Thursday in the House of Representatives Mr Seddon told Mr Hawkins that he was not aware of what had heen circulated; whatever had been done in the matter he was not privy to.
The shipping companies trading between New Zealand and London report that there is a marked scarcity of cargo offering Homewards as compared with the past few years. The lack of cargo has already resulted in several large steamers being diverted to Australia for Homeward loading. The Star of Scotland sailed for Sydney yesterday, tho Papanui will sail for Sydney tomorrow morning, and the Mamari is to proceed to Port Pirie, South Australia-
