The business of the Invercargill Supreme Court was interrupted in an unusual and painful manner one day last week (according to the “Southland Times”), wljen a young girl, whose admissions showed that for some time she had been a homeless wanderer, broke down in the course of cross-examina-tion, and gave way to a fit of hysterical sobbing. His Honor pointed out to counsel that he had elicited quite enough of the girl’s conduct, and the Court was adjourned for fifteen minutes to allow the unfortunate girl time to recover.
