ASHHURST.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) • Work in connection with the forming up of the sports ground is about completed, grass seed has been sown and the ground will be a very good one when ready. The work was earned out by Mr J. Laurence. Another slip has come down in the Gorge, and it will take some time to clear away, being a larger slip than the former ones. A concert and dance is to be held on the 22nd of this month in aid of the hospital. Tickets are selling readily, and the affair should prove a huge success.^
