HAVELOCK.

■"V. - (From Our Own Correspondent.) .The weather has been splendid this week and things are coming on fine, last night we had a nice shower which has freshened everything up. Politics are th© chief topic now. I hear the Oanvastown supporters of Mr John Graham, M.H.R. have got a strong committee going. And they say that the Hon C. H. Mills is going to have a near thing with Mr Duncan, so the former gentleman will have to "get into it” pretty soon. While bushfelling, Stanley Dillon, of Deep Creek met with a serious accident. A branch falling on hie head rendered Tifm unconscious for some time. ‘-Dr Bartlett was called and attended to the injured man.

Picton footballers are to play a match, against Canvaetown team at Canvastown on Saturday. At a meeting held last Saturday night, to diScuss the beet place to hold the Regatta in the Pelorus Sounds, the Havelock, and upper portions of the Sounds, people wanted it to he held at Moetapu, but the other portions of the Sounds would not agree to it, so nothing definite was decided. A meeting is to be held on the 23rd this month to decide finally.
