A report was received by the Land Board last week from the Road 1 Inspector at Pongaroa that a certain settler had fenced in a part of the township and a street with his section. It was decided to instruct .the Crown Lands Ranger and the Road Inspector to see that the toe-much enclosing fence he removed. The Country Workers’ Association, established with, headquarters at Palmerston North, has for its objects:—(l) The establishment at the different centres of the colony of bureaux to afford information regarding work obtainable; (2) to promote legislation improving the living accommodation of country workers, and to provide suitable homes; (3) to improve the social standing of country workers: (4) to promote good feeling between employers and employees. Mr W. H. Gomez, of Palmerston North, is secretary of the association.
