Information was received in Wellington last week from Sydney that the Australian section of the Merchant Service Guild intends to cite the shipOAvners to the Federal Arbitration Court. There is said to be general dissatisfaction at the wages paid to masters and officers of vessels trading on the Australian coast. The “North Otago Times” understands that in the list of electors that is being prepared for the Oaraaru district for the general election there Avill be 800 young voters, whose names appear for the first time on a roll. This enrolment gives piquancy to the election. The points are (says our contemporary) whether these young male and female voters will gO' with the Young Ncav Zealand party or vote license or no-licenee. In the meantime they are supposed to he a disturbing element. But has it not been the aw at every election P
