FIGHTING IN BORNEO.

BRISBANE, August 25.

Details of the insurrection in South Borneo have reached here by steamer. The Sultan of Beni, it aouears, rebelled, and the Sultan of Gau supported li m. Tlie rising las caused through the Dutch imposing trading restrictions, and on the natives refusing to pay,a Dutch force, including marines, totalling 4000, assisted by four warships, proceeded against the natives. Two battles were fought, in both of which tlie Dutch were successful. Fighting is still going on. The impression in Batavia is 9 that the Dutch will be successful in the pitched battles, hut the natives will i oAve m uind and a guerilla warfare he carried on. In one battle it is stated that 250 natives and 14 Dutch were killed.
