Sitting in the divorce and matrimonial causes jurisdiction of the Supreme Court last week, his Honor Mr Justice Cooper took occasion to call attention to a matter of importance to those members of the public who are unfor-tunate-enough to require relief at the hands of this branch of our judicature. It appears that at times Registrars of the Court in country districts have exceeded their powers in the matter of granting successful petitioners the custody of the children, when the rules nisi pronounced by the Judge oome up to be made absolute. His Honor pointed out that the determination of such a question was , entirely beyond the functions of a Registrar.
