During the week his Excellency Lord Plunket, with Lady Plunket and a large party from Government House, have been visiting Rotorua, where the doings in their honour have been great. A suite of rooms had been arranged for them at Waiwera House, a crowd of some eight hundred congregating to welcome them on arrival there. LnviNations had been issued! for a garden party at Government House to take place the day after the return of their Excellencies from Rotorua, and, as summer is really upon us at last, a very pleasant afternoon was spent by those present. Dr and Mrs Copeland Savage and their two children are staying at Te Aroba.

Mr and Mrs Noble are away in New Plymouth visiting Mr W. Bay ley. Sir Edward' and Lady Osborne Gibbes, after spending a few weeks in Auckland, have now left for Wellington. Airs Gray, Gisborne, is visiting relations in Auckland.

Miss Ethel Puckering, who has been visiting friends in Wellington and "Wanganui, has returned to Auckland. Miss Minnitt (Revonport) is spending some sis weeks with her sister, Mrs Robert Dyer, in Invercargill. Mr Matthew Clark and his daughters are away touring in the Hot Lakes district.

Mr and Mrs Hugh Campbell have left by way of Wellington on a twelve months’ tour to Europe. Air and Airs Arthur Alyers and a party of friends have left in their motorcar, and are travelling about the Thames district by way of Hamilton.

Aliss Lennox, Remuera, is visiting friends in New Plymouth.

The engagement has been announced of Miss Eileen Lewis, the only daughter of Dr Hope Lewis, to Air Guy Williams, Master ton., and son of Air T. G. Williams, Wellington.
