FRNECH PARLIAMENT

PARIS, January 11. M. Paul Doumer, Deputy for Aisne, and ex-Governor of Indo-China, who is an opponent of M. Combes, the Premier, has been elected President of the Chamber of Deputies by a majority of twenty-five votes over M. Brisson. M. Doumer’s victory is duo to the votes of dissident Radicals, Nationalists, and Royalists, and is also attributed to the dissatisfaction felt at delation recot ing the Army and the denunciation of the Concordat, as well as the action of the Government in regard to tho Income Tax Bill, which roused such a storm of protest when introduced reC'Oiitly # LONDON, January 11. The “Daily News” says M. Doumer may look forward to the Premiership, leaning for support on the Right. M. Doumer’s advent is regarded as something of a victory for the Nationalists.
