JOLLYBOYS CHRISTMAS.

Oh, Christmas is blithesome and jolly. It ousts dumps and dull melancholy, Not a sorroAV or care— And I have my fair share— But is off at the sight of the holly!

It’s good-bye to the work and the Avorry, So one cannot help being merry; It’s hurrah for home joys, With the girls and the boys, Singing, “Hi-diddledy-di-doAvn-derry!” Though eld, yet I don’t mind the Aveatlier, Eet it rain, srnnv and hail all together, Well, I care not a pin, For AA'e’re jolly within, And my heart is as light as a feather. If it’s just in the humour, it freezes, Then I feel in such spirits, it eases My mind Avhen I take A friend’s hand to shake. To give it a few extra squeezes. My efforts at skating are humble. And my bones are a bit apt to grumble, But I run with the rest, And can slide Avitli the best, And how we all laugh when I tumble!

When the bell rings the hour for dining, For turkey and pudding we’re pining; So away we all burst, As I cry, “Who’ll be first?” Till my face beats the silver for shining. And what can be brighter or better Than to get a nice card or a letter? It makes my heart heave, EvTy gift I receive. And 1 feel I’m to friendship a debtor. So 1 wish you the joys of tlie season; If you want to be glad you’ll find reason. For Christmas-time brings Such troops of good things. To be doleful or dull is rank treason.
