SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION

At the examination held last month 620 scholars from fifty-seven schools competed, Ninety gained prizes and a first-class certificate, having received 75 per cent, of marks; •101 scholars who gained between 60 and 75 marks will receive a second-class certificate . 164 gained between 45 and 60 marks, and will receive a third-cIRSS certificate; 265 failed to gain 45 per cent, of marks, and are counted as failed. A special prize offered to the candidate gaining the highest number of marks will be divided between Miss Lucy Field and Miss Faith Calvert, woo both belong to Taranaki street Sunday school. They gained 98 out of a possible 100 marks. The prizes are to be distributed at a public meeting to be held about the middle of next month. The examiners were Miss Helyer, Mrs A. R.
