Many of your readers will regret to hear of the death of Mr John Dick, butcher, of Reefton. After a brief illness he passed away at his residence* Central Broadway. His exceeding generosity and upright, straight-forward manner won for him the esteem of the whole community. The funeral took place this afternoon (June 19th), and the brethren of the Robert Burns Lodge of Freemasbns and sister lodges headed the long procession. Friends from every part of the coast attended to pay their last sad tribute of respect to one who was never appealed to m vain, and whose liberality will be missed by many.-. His two sons (John and Joseph) will . continue to -carry on their late father’s business-

Mrs Eitzmauriee, who has been in possession of the Gilmer Hotel, Ahaura, is, it is said, retiring from business to settle in, Greymouth, and rumour has it that Mr A. Dunn-is leaving "Gough’s” - Hotel to take possession of the “Gilmer.”/ Mr G. Oressey has now established himself in his new. commodious and up-to-date store and butchery. The- choir of St. Andrew’s Church intimate that they intend to hold their sacred concert about the end of June.
