THE FINLAND TRAGEDY.
ST. PETERSBURG, June 22. The Czar attended the funeral of General Bobriltoff, Governor of Finland, who was shot by ex-Senator Schumann’s son (a Government official) inside the precincts of the Senate.
A letter found in Schumann’s pocket reminded the Czar of his loyalty. Feeling that there had been a breach of the pledges given at the time of the Czar’s accession, the assassin stigmatised Statements by the late Governor Bobrikoff and M. de Plehve as lies, causing the abrogation of Finnish rights and liberty. A copy of the letter had previously been sent to a friend for transmission to the Czar. ST. PETERSBURG, June 22. In connection with the shooting of the Mate General Bobrikoff, Governor of Finland, bj 7 ex-Senator Schumann’s son, it is stated that Schumann deposited with a friend a sealed envelope enclosing a copy of the letter to the Czar, with instructions to open the same when circumstances seemed to justify such a course. :
Schumann’s object was to prove that ho had no accomplices, and ensure, the non-suppression or the letter. Its publication has paralysed the' police efforts to identify Schumann with the Swedish revolutionary party.
