The difficulties that beset sailing ships are shown by the following parapraph, culled from the Sydney “Morning Herald” of June 16tli:—The Norwegian barque Armenia, which unexpectedly ptit in an appearance at this port on xvednea day last while bound from Newcastle to Bunbury Western Australia.', resumed her voyage yesterday. For sixteen days she could make no headway,- and was unable to proceed further south than Cape Howe, Captain Torgesen finding it impossible to make the journey against the westerly winds which prevail during this season of the year, cabled to his owners for permission to make the trip via Torres straits. This request has been granted, and although the route chosen is double the distance of the one attempted the master ia confident that lie will accomplish the passage in good time. A Torres Strait pilot joined the Armenia at Sydney*
