The canning of fruit at Hastiugs, now thoroughly up-to-date at the .Frimley orchards, under the management and direction of Mr E. Basil Jones, formerly of Wellington. This part- of the HaAvlce’s Bay district has been noted for its fruit supply for years, and the abundance of the product induced the proprietor of the Frimley orchards to establish the canning and preserving industry on his property. Tho tinned fruit has already been placed upon the market, and is earning a good name for excellence of quality. It is neatly, even elegantly, got up, and from the samples submitted to us avc are justified in saying that they are quite as good as anything imported from California, and doubtless Avhen the name of “Frimley” is more widely knoAvn its brand of canned fruits will be in greater demand.
