DEER-STALKING IN THE WAIRARAPA. —The accompanying picture is a view of a stag shot by Mr Pilkington. of St. Helens, Lancashire, England, while on a deer-stalking expedition in the Wairarapa. The stag, which is a remarkably fine specimen, has 11-point antlers, with a span of 37 inches. We are indebted to Mr F. Steffon, of Martinborough, for the photograph, which was taken by Miss Pilkington, who accompanied the party.
