The New Zealand National Dairy Association will meet in . conference at Palmerston North during the winter show this month. The annual meeting of the association will he held on the morning of Tuesday, the 21st inst. On the 22nd and 23rd papers will be read on topics, of interest' by Messrs J. A. Gilruth and Peakes, Government Vet-erinary-Surgeons; D. Cuddie and W. M. Singleton, Government Dairy Experts; D. D. Hyde, Poultry Eixpert; and W. Dempster, D. C. C. Gebbie and 0. Mackio The executive of the North Island District Grand Lodge, TJ.A.O'.D.,- has received a cable message from the Grand Lodge of Victoria (the parent Grand Lodge of Australasia) stating that permission has been given to the Excelsior and Maitai Lodges, of Nelson, and the Star of the West Lodge, of Greymouth, to join the North Island District Grand Lodge. In the case of the two Nelson Lodges, the Victorian body lias guaranteed all funeral claims for the next three years, and the Star of the West Lodge will receive its funeral claims from the parent body for two years. Great satisfaction bias'been expressed at the concession granted by the Victorian Grand Lodge to the North Island body.
