The Railway Department lias accepted the tender of Messrs Ashby, Bergh and Co., of Christchurch, far the supply and delivery of castor oil for the railways, in the following quantities: —• At Auckland, 3000 gallons; at Wellington, 7000 gallons; at Lyttelton', 4000 gallons; at Port Chalmers, 6000 gallons. The price is Is 101 d per gallon* Eight tenders were received. The secretary (Mr G. L.
