A seal has been adopted by the Wellington Technical Education Board. f J lie design, which is by Mr Tlerdnian Smith, is emblematic of the various branches of instruction carried on in the school. A female figure, seated, and symbolising Industry, occupies the centre of the seal, and is surrounded by emblems of science and art.
Captain A. H. Kemp, late chief officer of the Tyser liner Mar ere, is now commander of the steamer ITawkes Bay. The Rev L. D. Thomas, formerly curate of St. John’s, Darlinghurst, has accepted a call to the living at Gisborne, New Zealand. Mr Reginald Smith, who has been manager of the Thames branch of the Bank°of New Zealand for fifteen years, has accepted the managership of the Gore (Otago) branch of the same bank.
