The Manawatu A. and P. Association adjourned its special general meeting on ' Saturday for an hour as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Mr J. T. Dalrytmple, of Dulls- A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the deceased was also passed. The funeral took place on Saturday at Parewanui, near Bulls, Und was largely attended. Mr S. W. Luxford, the president, represented the Manawatu A. and P. Association. The reported mysterious disappearance in Gippsland of Mr A. L. Bellerby, formerly of Poverty Bay, created quite a sensation at Gisborne, where he was very well known and highly respected. His popularity was such that on the evening prior to his departure a farewell “ social ” was tendered him and Mrs Bellerby, arid was attended by most of the prominent people of Gisborne. He sold his property in the Waimate Valley some fourteen months ago, and lieft Poverty Bay with the intention of proceeding to England, but altered his plans for some reason on arrival at Sydney. Subsequently Mr Bellerby returned to New Zealand, and mad© inquiries about property in the Bay of Plenty district. Finding nothing suitable, he returned to Australia, arid purchased a very fine farm at Drouin, in Gippsland. Mr A. J.
