(From' Our Own Correspondent.) The splendid autumn weather still continues, and is favourable to many kinds of industry in the district. The paddocks are in good order for the cartage of firewood, and ttxe roads to the back blocks are in an excellent state for this time of year. A meeting was held in the Choral Hall on Saturday evening to make arrangements for the benedicts’ ball, which *s always well attended. The management is in good hands, and its success is assured. The bricklayers are making rapid progress with the new lime-kiln, and the best English fire-bricks are being used for the inner lining of the kiln. The village is not yet clear of sickness, mumps and influenza are still prevalent in many families. Tlie Mauriceville Dairy Factory closes its season at the end of the present month. The supply of milk has fallen considerably, and suppliers will be glad when their journeys to and from the factory cease, as the time spent can be more profitably utilised on their sections.
