THE VOGUE OF THE THREECORNERED MODEL
The plateau hat at its latest stage of development is depicted in the picture at the foot of his oolumn, and at the top of that sketch. Made of green velvet, and slightly indented on the top, it is finished with an upstanding ruckled brim., j dined to the crown, which it raises to a conspicuous prominence. A cluster of plumes at the left side i® its only trimming, and to give dWensity to the scheme it is re-
commended that the plumes be black ones. Shaded feathers are a degree less fashionable than they were. Three-cornered chenille hats are as smart as they can be in Paris, and are made with loos© taffetas silk oroAvne set off with a bright-coloured wing or a sparkling buckle holding a cockade in place. Such hats acre most becoming, and keep their shape perfectly. Filled in with flowers, the boat-shaped straw hat i® a pretty spring choice. It may also have a crown ru oiied .Avith taffetas, or looped with ribbon and be t —■-> d with one of tin I .new long veils handing at the back. -Inspiration avill Oo - .med by a glance at the pictured model.
