THE IMPROVED GOLF BALLS COMPANY, LIMITED.

The first annual general meeting of this cfomipamy was held at Locksky street, Lomehouse, London E., on Wednesday, February 24, Mr C. T. Kingzett, F.I.G. F.C.S., presiding. The net balance of profit upon the trading of 1903, after payment in full of the preliminary expenses attendant upon the formation of the company, and providing for the interest accrued on tire debentures, was Bufficdemt to pay the full dividend of 5 per cent, upon the preference shares of the company, and a dividend of one shilling per share o j n the ordinary shares. Dividends were declared accordingly and' the balance "carried forward to 1904. The chairman congratulated the shareholders upon the happy start they had made with the business-, and said' that apart from their trade in other halls and articles which had steadily progressed, they had, in particular, met with great success in their newest productions. viz., the “Rompo” and the “Elastone” rubber-cored balls. These balls were manufactured by them exclusively under his (Mr Kingzett’s) patents and were perfectly novel in construction, the rubber cores being built up by a ohemiieo-physioal process into an absolutely solid compressed form, perfectly devoid of tension to which the shell of specially made gutta is then closely and firmly united. Although they only commenced to make the “Elastine” in the middle of November, last, they had sent out- many thousands and had large orders in hand. In fact, the orders were coming m daily much faster than they could at present execute, although they had already on several occasions increased their plant and staff. Further extensions were now being made, and it was hoped that the Company would, in the course of the next few weeks, get even with the demand, which promised to become very, great. He attributed the success of the “Elastine,” not merely to its popular price as a shilling ball, but to its intrinsic merits, which were not only in his opinion-, hut in that of a great number of prominent golfers, at least equal to any 2s ball on the market. The company were interested in a number of other new inventions and were determined to keep a front place in the idustry on which they had embarked upon scientific lines. Amongst new balls with which they were experimenting, they numbered the “Elastic.e-Singer,” which would; be shortly introduced, and which combined the best features of the “Elastine” with those of the old “Ortogo-Singer”-ball of their manufacture. In conclusion', Mr Kingzett took this opportunity of reminding all whom it might concern that the brand ‘TEt.O.H.” was originated by them, and that his company claimed exclusive right of user of this brand! i!n respect of re-covered cored golf balls?.
