Word has been received by the Tourist Department that the ten head of wapiti deer presented by Riesident? Roosevelt to the New Zealand Government, are being shipped from Washington to San Francisco. At that port they will bo shipped to Auckland, and may possiblly arrive there by the next mailboat. These animals will be liberated in tho mountainous country of West Otago-
