TRAGIC OUTCOME OF A FEUD.

SYDNEY, April 24. A sensational tragedy has occurred at Leichhardt, an important suburb’ three males west of Sydney. A feud, involving legal proceedings’, has existed for a considerable time between Allfred Russell, a plumber, and Steward, a local builder and an aiderman ! of the borough, over a house Steward was building for Russell. Yesterday evening Russell awaited Steward's return from the city, and, walking to within a few paces, shot him dead through the head in the street, in the presence of several passers-by. He then quietly walked away. When Russell was arrested, a large steel plate was found across his breast. He explained! that he had taken this precaution because lie feared Steward might shoot him. -In consequence of Russell’s threats Steward was always armed. His dead hand grasped a fully-loaded revolver, partly withdrawn from hiis pocket.
