SYDNEY, Apri.l 10. In the final round of .the bowling championships, Wahlberg (New South Wales) defeated Hyland (Victoria) by 21 points bo 16. Strong (New South Wales) defeated Wright (Victoria) for third place. In the inter-Stato matches New South Wales defeated Queensland, and! Victoria defeated Tasmania,. WAIPAWA. (From A Correspondent.) The initial public .performance of our bowling club against a'nother club, was held on the afternoon of Good Friday. There had been a considerable amount of practice by members at odd times, and before admiring relatives, and some« times before a few unrelated, by synu. pathetic onlookers, and as the bowling appeared to go all right, the club, on hospitality and pleasure bent, invited three rinks of players from the Napier Bowling Club tQ play three rinks of our The result proved very gratifying to the visitors, as they won five games from six played, and the sixth game was a draw. These were played in the presence of many spectators.. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs A. E. Jull and Mrs W. I. Limbrick. and the.teams had tea and lunch together. Mr Hodgson, in a felicitous speech, thanked the Waipawa team for their hospitality, and invited them to pay a visit to the Na.pier green, where they would receive a cor* dial weloome. Mr A.
