In future every volunteer, excepting garrison artillery and bearer corps members, is to be practised in. judging distance as part of liis annual training, and will be exercised on at least four occasions annually in judging distances between 400yds an>l 2000yds, and will at each exercise be required to estimate six distance's by sight and two by sound. A visitor has written in a visitors’ bcok at Rotorua: —“I came here for change' and rest. The Maoris took the change; the tradesmen took the rest.”
