Two claims have been lodged with the Clerk of Awards, Wellington, under the Workers’ Compensation for Accidents Act 1900. Elizabeth Vollieun, widow, seeks £2BO 16s from William Brnck, farmer Qpaki, Masterton. for the loss of her husband. Charles Vollieun, who, it is alleged, was thrown out of a cart, while in the respondent’s employment on September 26th, 1903, and received internal injuries, which resulted in his death on January 12th. Benjamin Tooley labourer, Masterton, claims £1 4s per week during disablement from James McKenzie, farmer, Manaia. for injuries received in bis a horse bolting on December 4th, 1903. Tooley alleges that he has been permanently incapacitated from working.
