Referring to marine insurances during the Jap-anese-R ussian war, the Melbourne “Argus" states that shipments of ordinary iron-contraband cargoes in neutral vessels to and from New Zealand and Australia. as Avell as India and China, have been largely covered against the risks of oapture, seizure or detention, both' in London and on the Continent, at from Is to 10s per cent., according to the trade. Altogether the underAvriters are transacting a large business, and undertaking serious risks.
