(By "Advance.”! W. Black, of Invercargill, represented tiffs colony ait the Stavell (Victoria) Athletic Club’s meeting, held on Satur•day and Monday last. At Oamaru on Jan. 1 and 2 Black won three handicaps from scratch, and the 220yds championship of New Zealand. At Invercargill on March 16th Black rail fourth in the final of the 'Sheffield Handicap from virtual scratch. An aboriginal named W. Isaacs, winner of the third Queensland hundred, on 9ycls, may be hard to beat.
