ITS PROGRESS IN .WELLINGTON

Some particulars of the progress of manual and technical education are given in the annual 1 , report of the chairman of the Wellington Education Board. Air] Bradey mentions that a year ago the I Technical School was placed under the I control of the Associated Board. Tho cookery classes were controlled by tho Technical School until the end of June, when tho Board took over the management. The city classes were removed to the Newtown School, where a room was fitted up for the purpose, the cost of such fittings, £lll 13s, being defrayed by the Government. Tho teacher, Alias Ivey, having obtained six months’ leave of absence, her position was filled by Aliss Alanning. The cost of the classes will be covered by capitation. Tho Wairarapa classes continue under the instruction of Alias Alillington. The lessons for tho first half year are given at Alasterton, Clareviille, Feathers!on, Greytown and Carterton, and for the second half year at Eketahuna, Alangatainoka, Hukanui. Scarborough and Pahiatua.
