GOLF.
(From a Correspondent.) FEATHERS i ON, Oct .17. To*-day, Saturday, was held the annual meeting of members of the Wairarapa Golf Club. Thirty members attended. The balance-sheet and report were adopted. Th© following officers were elected :—President, W. C. Buchanan, Esq., AI.H.R. ; captain, Air W. E. Bid will; secretary, and treasurer, A. Hannay; auditor, W. H. Turnbull; committee, Messrs U. B. Plinrazyn, G. Hume, F. Pearce and J. O. Bidwill. Tho ladies also elected their officers: —Captain, Alis® W. Hannay; secretary, Airs W. ,E. Bidwill; committee, Miss G* Alonckcon and Aliss Bunny. One important point- settled was tho including of an Open Wairarapa Championship on our programme. This championship is, therefore, open to all members of registered golf clubs in the Wairarapa. After the annual meeting a handicap medal match was played in a howling north-wester, and' tho following were the best cards handed in, viz:—
Fifteen competed. This closed the season, though members will, no doubt, continue practising.
