WAIRARAPA GUN CLUB. 011 Thursday last the Wairarapa Gun Club fired a nine-bird, match on the Show Ground. . Mr J. M. MereditJbl (“Montague 77 ) was the only competitor to bring down all his birds. He won from Air T. H. Harvey, who had only one miss. Mr J. Cameron gave satisfaction. The arrangeanents were well carried out by Air T. Duncan (secretary). Biliington, with J. Harvey second. The winner killed all his birds (five), and the second competitor four out of the five birds. There were eighteen entries, and the sweepstake was 5s per oompetitor. The prizes- ware presented in the evening at the Central Hotel. Mr E. M. D. Whatman presided. Mr Meredith (Montague) was presented with five guineas, a donation made by ADesses Lowe® and’ Irons, and half of the sweep QS2 ss. Air T. Harvey received Messrs J. D. Cruickshank. and Co’s trophy aud half the sweep: (£2 ss). Air J. H. Biliington received £3 for first in second sweep, and Air J. Harvey, junr., £l, second prize in the second sweep. Mr A. W. Dales, shooting from the 33 yards 7 rise, again won the right-out trophy competition at the N.S.W., Gun Club’s grounds on September 4th,. killing all his birds in fine style,, and securing the trophy. Mr Eales- speaks very highly of the Colonial Ammunition Company’s “Bluerock 77 cartridge, loaded with llshot, and the company’s patent, concave wadding, which he has used in preference to any other for the last six months. At least 75 per cent, of the shooters who have won pigeon matches with the Colonial ammunition this year have been long-distance mea (both in Australia and New Zealand), tne rise generally Joeing over 30- yards, while many were placed at the extreme limit of 33 yards from the traps.
