The officers of the Stock Department have been experimenting in the Wairarapa with a specific for destroying ragwort. The weed on the patch operated upon w r as very thick, and the specific appears to have eradicated it. It will not be certain until the spring, however, that the experiment is successful. If it is, the Government will probably purchase the patent, which is the property of Messrs Miller and Fal--1 COlls
