Mr John Henry Nicholson, who swindled so many Australasian nev spapers and newspaper readers by means of his aural advertisements, ornitholoo’ical .competitions, etc., is in fresh trouble in London. On account of his frauds in connection with the ornithological contests, he was sentenced at the Old. Bailey to a long term of imprisonment, and on his release a few weeks ago he was at once re-arrested and brought before the Bow street Judge for extradition to Germany, charged Avith obtaining money and credit in that country by. false pretences. The prisoner resisted extradition, on the ground that he AA'as a British subject, born in Canada of English parents. It was proved, hoAvever, that AA"lien he AA'as arrested he had in his possession, a certain passport, obtained in Paris, Avhich is only given to American citizens. Among the Avitnesses called Avas Detective-Inspector DeAV, Avho said he had received complaints as to the prisoner from many parts of the Avorld, including Australia, .New Zealand, South Africa and the Fiji Islands.
